My Valentine's dinner - SuHang Restaurant 蘇杭人家

今年情人節到"蘇杭人家"吃大餐。從來沒聽過這家也沒吃過,所以要特別一下囉。看到"蘇杭"這兩個字,不用說就知道是上海菜囉。
This year, we chose to come to Su-Hang Restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day. It's the Shanghai cuisine which specializes in complicated knife skills and sweet salty flavors.

灌湯小籠包 / Steamed Soup Buns w/ Pork Filling
皮薄湯鮮好好吃呀,可是後面還有很多大菜,只敢點一籠。
YUMMY !! They were tasty but not overly salty.

蟹肉魚肚羹 / Crab Meat w/ Fish Maw Soup and Red Wine Vinegar
某人很想點這東西很久,終於遇到有人(我)可以解釋給他這是甚麼 >_< 可是都沒吃到蟹肉耶,看在魚膘(花膠)養顏美容的分上多喝幾碗好了。
Fish maw is an internal gas-filled organ that contributes to the ability of a fish to control its buoyancy, and thus to stay at the current water depth without having to waste energy in swimming. It's often to be used in the Chinese dishes.

走油元蹄 / Braised Pork Hock w/ Brown Sauce (Soy sauce)
這可是重點呀。端上桌時嚇到,至少有直徑30cm內。鹹香帶點甜味,油滑肉潤,一點都不材,連不大敢吃肥肉的我也是一口接一口。
What can I say, It's big (1' of diameter) and tasty ...lol

魚香帶子 / Sauteed Scallops w/ Chili Sauce
這又是某人很想點的....雖然寫"魚香",可是完全不是印象中川菜的魚香口味。只有一點點的辣,不過蠻提味,可是 ... 醬油跟干貝真不是好朋友呀。
It wasn't my favorite dish, but someone enjoyed it very much, that's most important.(sign~)

桂花酒釀湯圓 / Sweet Tea Olive w/ Rice Ball in the Brandied Soup
這也是做功課後知道必點的,本來以為一小碗,結果來這一大碗公,害我當場叫出來,好糗。酒釀不會過酸,桂花淡淡的卻餘味撓繞,真是恰到好處的好吃。
I liked this type of traditional Chinese desert, but apparently it's not everyone's cup of tea.

搭餐的法國酒 / French Wine
oops, know nothing about wines..I like the bottle tho, it's a very thoughtful design, the dimples are made for the fingers hold the bottle and poured.

總結,好久沒吃過食物,服務和環境都優的中餐廳,尤其是海外。不只洗手間漂亮乾淨,當我在享用甜點時,服務生注意到我朋友沒有吃,詢問後拿了一盤的椰糕給他,真貼心。實在納悶這樣的好餐廳似乎在此地並不是很有名,不過有注意到一張海報說這家餐廳名列橫跨英美加+澳洲等國家的最佳中餐館前一百名。雖然有點貴但絕對是值得再訪的一家餐廳。

Overall, Su Hang Restaurant is a great place to have a special event (as in Valentine's Day ? lol). it's not only the food that was outstanding, the washroom was clean which is plus; The service was very good; for example, when I was having the desert, the server noticed that my friend didn't try. She came over and asked, then came back to us with a plate of coconut jelly cake, how good was that ?

In fact, I am a little surprised it seems this restaurant is not so famous here. However, Su Hang Restaurant actually was named one of the top 100 Chinese Restaurants in a global Chinese Restaurant competition. It's slightly more expensive than most restaurants, but based on the quality of food and service, I would definitely love to visit them again and again.
